Alien Mustangs are a Greek band putting an original sonic twist on well-worn psychedelic and garage-rock influences such as The Stooges, Thirteenth Floor Elevators and Spacemen 3. 'Beat Of The Earth' is an even more far-out statement than their 2018 debut 'Alienation' due to it embracing Krautrock and kosmische sounds.

Since 2018’s Alienation I have been anxiously awaiting the follow-up LP by Greece’s Alien Mustangs. While still maintaining a fair amount of debt to the influences of Loop and Spacemen 3, Beat of The Earth has a much more spacey feel to it. “Sound Of No Future” kicks things off with a light spacey atmospheric groove with plenty of echo effects to roll around in your brain. “Fairy Meadows” follows with an A&E chord intro on the organ (think Spiritualized) and kicks into a Motorik beat with some jam-band style guitar work as the sound builds and swells over its 9 minutes including a darker, slower, decent for the final 2 minutes. “Illusions” is a bit more retro in its approach.....

“Beat Of The Earth” consists of 6 tracks clock-ticking from 3:21min to 9:39min. The opener “Sound Of No Future” is a remarkable dynamic track with the familiar-by-now Alien Mustangs unique Sound, the tune is progressively being unfolded emerging tons of slow lazy guitar feedback, while as if by magic, a trippy-psychedelic swirling hypnotically fuzzy environment is being wonderfully created… “Fairy Meadows” is one of the strongest moments on the album and one of my personal highlights, using the previous track’s background but with a soft, serene and hazy intro, this piece of instrumental magic is capable enough to tear down the “walls” of modern-psych-space-kraut! Slowly the guitar gives the ‘lead’ to that MAGNIFICENT “Neu” beat and automatically the tune transforms into a neo-modern-krauty sonic adventure! A great tune, trippy enough, with all participated instruments perfectly harmonized to the new ‘path’ that is opened in front…

Alien Mustangs Beat Of The Earth has great sound quality and capture the live energy of the band but with studio quality recording.
